Magic Kingdom
The Magic Kingdom is the most visited theme park in America and around the world. And still, the number of happy, excited guests will continue growing over the next 6 years. This incredible park's 50th anniversary is coming up soon, and it will be celebrated properly. The castle, as well as Main Street USA, will be given a "Golden" overlay to match the theme. Some new refurbishments will take place, some just "plussing" attractions, while others completely re-imagine them. There will be a new nighttime spectacular, and a re-boot of the Main Street Electrical Parade. Lastly, throughout the year, special events will take place to honor Walt Disney World and the Magic Kingdom's history. From neat little enhancements in the merchandise and theming, to major attractions becoming new again, keep reading to find out about the incredible Golden celebration of the Magic Kingdom!
Decor
As depicted in the photo above, for this celebration, Cinderella's Castle will be given a very fancy and festive golden overlay. Like for Disneyland's 50th, this castle got a decor overlay, and now it will be happening again, except in a different style, really blending into the current architecture very naturally. Also, it is not a full overlay of the castle, but merely highlights of it. Main Street USA will also receive an overlay of theming. Again, it is nothing to imposing, but more fancy and festive golden lining along the different buildings.

Specialty Dining
The Magic Kingdom will be host to many different specialty dining events throughout the celebration. Different hard ticket, after hours events will be held on weekdays about every two weeks after the celebration begins. These will include outdoor tables set up around the new hub, where visitors can enjoy a nice meal at their table with a golden candle, white table cloth, and perfectly folded napkins! All of this takes place right in front of the castle and underneath a specialty fireworks display! Characters will be present briefly and favorite Disney music will be played, so all of this combined is sure to entertain!
Another special event will take place on October 1st, 2021, to commemorate exactly 50 years of the Magic Kingdom. This event will feature the same type of services as the other hard ticket events, except this will include more and go all out. Live music will be played, and there will be special presentations about the history and story of the park from famous Imagineers. This event will conclude with a "re-dedication" ceremony, where this park will be given a new light, celebration, and goal to go on for another 50!
Refurbishments
One big part of the celebration is the refurbishments of many major and favorite rides at the park (as well as the other four). This is to keep attractions up to the Disney standard, especially for the time that this will be (6 years from now). Some attractions will receive basic cleaning and tuning up to keep them from falling apart, while others will receive greater treatment to keep them quality experiences and from them to start declining in "ticket" level. All refurbishments will take place either in the end of 2020 or the first half of 2021, to make sure all are open for the celebration in the second half of the 2021 and 2022, as well as to make sure too many aren't down at once.
Space Mountain- This attraction, showing it's age, will get a secondary queue upgrade, a track refurbishment that makes the ride smoother, and a ride vehicle upgrade with a sound system.
Pirates of the Caribbean- Also showing its age, the ride will receive a massive overhaul of the existing track and support structure. The rust ridden ride will be refreshed and rebuilt to its former glory. One top of this the audio animatronics will be upgraded, the show scenes and queue will be touched up and cleaned, and general maintenance will take place.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin- While a favorite attraction by many, it is not very immersive, and has a few weak spots. In this refurbishment, cardboard cut-outs will be replaced by animatronics or 3-dimensional statues, show scenes will be improved in this similar way. Also, vehicles will be replaced so that the guns are not attached to the ride, and a slightly new queue will take shape.
The Many Adventures of Whinny the Pooh- Like Buzz Lightyear, in this attraction, the cardboard cut-outs will be replaced with 3-dimensional show sets, and animatronics will be improved. Also, the vehicles will be replaced to give them a bouncing sensation the whole ride to give it a unique and fun experience.
Carousel of Progress, The Enchanted Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree- General maintenance and touching up to these classic attractions will take place for the 50th anniversary of the park. Animatronics will be improved.
Streetmosphere
Throughout the course of the celebration, new streetmosphere activities, performances, and interactions will be offered to enhance the day of all guests visiting the park.
The Main Street Electrical Parade - A Sparkling Celebration
In honor of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary, the much beloved Main Street Electrical Parade will be undergoing a refresh to finally bring the show into the 21st century. Each float will be updated with bright, and crisp LED lights, and the parade's iconic "Baroque Hoedown" theme will be remastered to sound cleaner than ever.
There will also be a few changes to the show. Casey Jr., who opens the parade, after Tinkerbell, of course, will have gold accents, in celebration of the resort's 50th anniversary. The giant bass drum that the train tows will also be changed slightly to reflect the 50th.
The show will also be made slightly longer with a pair of floats celebrating both Disney-Pixar's "Up", with Carl's house floating inches from the ground, supported by an array of balloons, and "Toy Story," in which Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye have a time on the set of Woody's Roundup. The "Up" float will be placed in between Casey Jr., and Alice in Wonderland. Woody's Roundup will take place between Snow White, and Pinocchio.
